The aim of this course is to provide the opportunity for a student, in a supportive and controlled environment, to bring together their existing and new found engineering knowledge and skills via the use of a team/group design project.

This course aims to inform the student about the transport protocols used within the internet and their respective use, advantages and disadvantages. Describe the properties and applications of modern, emerging devices and systems that utilise the internet. Understand the electronics that drive most of the internet, and acquire the skills to deal with servers and their applications.

The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the role of the professional engineer working within an organization and a management structure. Furthermore, it aims to provide an awareness of the

theory and practice of management and the management of human resources in an engineering environment. Finally, the course aims to provide the students with key knowledge in specific areas of business and management practices in order to meet the demands of the highly competitive engineering industry.


The aims of this course are to promote the ability to work on an independent basis, with limited supervision, whilst fostering problem-solving skills and the ability to integrate material from different subject areas. Additionally this course aims to enable the students to follow written directions for the construction, testing and use of an engineering product, as well as practicing the development of specifications and their subsequent implementation.
